Getting a New Gate Right the First Time
A new gate has to solve two things at once: fit the opening exactly, and use hardware rated for what's actually going to open and close it every day. A side-yard walk gate that a person uses a few times a day needs different hardware than a wide driveway gate meant for a truck, boat trailer, or lawn equipment. We measure the actual opening and pick hardware for how the gate will really be used, not a one-size-fits-all default.

How We Install a New Gate
- Measure the opening. Width, ground slope, and swing clearance all get checked before ordering hardware.
- Set gate posts. Gate posts carry more load than line posts, so they go in deeper and get set in concrete.
- Frame and hang the gate. The gate frame is built or fitted to the opening, then hung and squared.
- Install hardware. Hinges, latch, and — for pool areas — self-closing and self-latching hardware to meet code.
